Jazz trumpeter Christian Scott grew up in New Orleans in the late '80s and early '90s. At the age of 13, Scott was already proficient enough to join his uncle, saxophonist Donald Harrison, and his band. After graduating with his brother at the top of their high school class at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts, Scott headed north to Berklee College of Music with a full scholarship. He earned two degrees in two years and eventually launched a music career that has positioned him as one of the best innovators of his generation.
